Slate is a fine-grained, foliated, homogeneous metamorphic rock that is millions of years old. It is the finest grained foliated metamorphic rock. Due to the uniqueness of slate, no two pieces are alike and will vary which adds to the appeal and overall look of slate.
Slate is natural and each piece is different:
All slate is not solid blue-black. Some pieces may contain veining of quartz, pyrite, and other elements
The texture may have variances within the same piece and from piece to piece
Flaking is normal when produced and during installation. This is a result of the splitting process and will stop once the loose material falls off.
Dimensional Flagstone is cut as square a possible using lasers and diamond blade saws. However, it may not be perfectly square.
Minimal bowing may occur in some pieces.
Irregular Flagstone & Mosaic Flagstone will vary in sizes/thickness.
Orders will be held for (3) weeks of fulfillment.
